It’s okay to feel relieved.
I know, this feeling goes hand in hand with guilt. But you have just gone through two momentous, life-changing experiences that you may have kept completely secret from most of the world around you. And if you find yourself feeling relieved that your life may not outwardly be changing as much as you’d thought, that is okay! If you are “finding the silver lining”, or “a blessing in disguise”, that is okay. Whatever YOU want to call it is okay. If you were nervous about the pregnancy for any reason, if you felt overwhelmed at the idea of your life changing, if you feel at peace knowing you have more time to process and understand what you want and need, that’s okay. If you feel sadness, then guilt, then relief, then guilt, then anger, then ten thousand other things at once, that’s okay (hello, it me). You are allowed to feel whatever you’re feeling. I felt this too.
